Job Summary

We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Accountant to join an established finance team.

The successful candidate will be responsible for a broad range of accounting and financial-reporting activities, including preparation of management accounts, reconciliations, financial analysis, budgeting and year-end reporting.

The role requires an organised and analytical professional capable of working independently while collaborating closely with finance colleagues and operational departments.

Key Responsabilities

Prepare monthly management accounts and supporting schedules.

Complete balance-sheet and bank reconciliations.

Maintain accurate general-ledger records.

Prepare accruals, prepayments and journal entries.

Monitor accounts payable and accounts receivable.

Assist with cash-flow reporting and treasury activities.

Support annual budgeting and forecasting processes.

Prepare variance analysis and financial-performance reports.

Assist with VAT and other statutory financial submissions.

Support year-end audit preparation and liaise with external auditors.

Maintain appropriate accounting records and supporting documentation.

Monitor compliance with internal financial procedures and controls.

Assist senior management with financial analysis and reporting.

Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes and reporting efficiency.

Requirements

Strong accounting and financial-reporting knowledge.

Excellent numerical and analytical ability.

High level of accuracy and attention to detail.

Strong organisational and time-management skills.

Ability to work independently and meet reporting deadlines.

Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.

Experience using accounting or ERP systems.

Strong written and verbal communication skills

Commercial awareness and ability to interpret financial information.

Ability to maintain strict confidentiality.

Education & Experience

Recognised accounting qualification or relevant degree in Accountancy, Finance or a related discipline.

Candidates who are qualified or in the final stages of a recognised professional accounting qualification may also be considered.

Approximately 3-5+ years of relevant accounting or finance experience preferred.

Experience preparing management accounts and supporting audit processes will be considered advantageous.
